Steel Will Shines on the Green Pitch ——The Successful Conclusion of Nigeria Yongxing Company's 2025 "Yongxing Cup" Employee Football League

Editor's Note: For more than a decade, organizing a thrilling football league for Nigerian employees every Christmas Eve has been an unbroken tradition of Nigeria Yongxing Company. Even when production tasks are heavy, the event is held as scheduled — because in the eyes of Nigeria Yongxing Company, football is not only the employees' favorite sport, but also an important bond for uniting teams, unleashing vitality and conveying warmth. The 2025 "Yongxing Cup" Employee Football League officially kicked off in November. More than 60 employees from front-line production and functional departments were selected to form four united teams: the Office United Team, the Smelting United Team, the Extended Products United Team and the Scrap Processing United Team. Under the guidance of professional referees, they underwent systematic training and engaged in intense matches, jointly open the wonderful chapter of this year's league.

After layers of fierce competitions in the group stage and knockout stage, the event gradually reached its climax. On December 15th, the third-place playoff kicked off first. The Office United Team and the Scrap Processing United Team fought a fierce showdown. Both sides launched orderly offense and defense and competed with full enthusiasm. In the end, relying on a solid defense and a decisive goal, the Scrap  Processing United Team defeated their opponent 1-0 and claimed the third place — this also marked the best historical record the team had achieved since the factory was founded, and the applause and cheers at the scene echoed for a long time.

On the afternoon of December 16th, the annual championship final was staged amid widespread anticipation, with the Smelting United Team facing off against the Extended Products United Team. At the beginning of the game, both sides exchanged attacks and refused to yield an inch. The fierce and tight defense kept the score unchanged in the first half. Near the end of the second half, the Smelting United Team seized a precious penalty kick opportunity.They took a composed shot and found the back of the net with steady precision, ultimately sealing the victory with a 1-0 score and successfully claiming the championship title of the 2025 Nigeria "Yongxing Cup" Football League. After the game, Mr Curry, the Interpreter Supervisor, presented trophies and generous bonuses to the winning teams on behalf of Nigeria Yongxing Company. At the moment when the players of the Smelting United Team held high the championship trophy and wore the gold medals, the atmosphere of the audience was instantly electrified. The players shouted "We are the champions" in unison, and accompanied by the familiar football melody of "Ole Ole Ole", everyone cheered and danced heartily on the field, indulging in the joy of victory. Subsequently, the champion players of the Smelting United Team took a lap of honour around the factory grounds, spreading the joy to every corner——a distinctive celebratory tradition of Nigeria Yongxing Company, carrying the enterprise's warmth and the team's glory.

"The company not only pays attention to our work performance, but also cares about our living conditions," after the game, a player from the Smelting United Team who has been employed for three years sighed:"Such activities allow us to relax completely after intense work and also meet colleagues from other departments. The company has also prepared generous player bonuses for us, which makes me very happy and gives me a stronger sense of belonging."Another senior Nigerian employee said even more sincerely: "Working in such an enterprise, what we are playing is not only football, but also a sense of belonging that is seen, respected and cherished by the company."
