Nigeria Yongxing Company: Building a Bridge for China-Nigeria Educational Cooperation and Writing a New Chapter of School-Enterprise Collaboration

Editor's Note: As an active practitioner of China-Nigeria friendly exchanges, Nigeria Yongxing Company fully led and hosted the reception of the delegation from Fujian Jiangxia University from June 15 to 18, 2025, successfully facilitating the implementation of multiple China-Nigeria educational cooperation projects and building an important platform for China-Nigeria educational and cultural exchanges.

From June 15 to 18, 2025, a delegation led by Ling Qidan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Fujian Jiangxia University, paid a four-day official visit to Edo State, Nigeria. The delegation included Zheng Zhuqun, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages; Zhang Yongpeng, Dean of the Institute of Regional and Country Studies; and Jiang Jinxing, Section Chief of the Party and Government Office, among others. With the full coordination and careful arrangements of Nigeria Yongxing Company, the visit achieved fruitful results, reaching important consensus in fields such as educational cooperation, school-enterprise collaboration, and cultural exchanges, effectively promoting the in-depth development of China-Nigeria friendly relations.

On the morning of June 16, Ling Qidan and his entourage from Fujian Jiangxia University, accompanied by Mr. Sun Yu, Deputy General Manager of Nigeria Yongxing Company, and the company's external relations team, visited the University of Benin in Nigeria. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the university's faculty, staff, and students. The two sides successfully signed an inter-university cooperation memorandum, marking the official establishment of cooperative relations between the two universities, which will carry out in-depth collaboration in academic exchanges, talent cultivation, and scientific research cooperation in the future.

On the same day, Mr. Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, and Mr. Emmanuel Paddy, Commissioner for Education, met with the Jiangxia University delegation at the state government. With the active coordination of Nigeria Yongxing Company, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on issues such as higher education cooperation, medical talent cultivation, and the promotion of Chinese language and culture. The state government expressed its full support for the cooperation projects between Fujian Jiangxia University and the University of Benin and looked forward to achieving mutually beneficial results in more fields in the future.

On the afternoon of June 17, Nigeria Yongxing Company, in conjunction with Jiangxia University, held a forum for Chinese-funded enterprises in Edo State. Representatives from several Chinese-funded enterprises in Nigeria, including Shidai Ceramics, Rongtai Wood Industry, and Xinqihang Paper Industry, attended the forum. The meeting discussed issues such as enterprise talent needs, safety prevention and control, and localized operation, providing new ideas for school-enterprise cooperation. At the forum, Ling Qidan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Fujian Jiangxia University, awarded Nigeria Yongxing Company the "Special Contribution Award for School-Enterprise Cooperation" in recognition of the company's outstanding contributions to promoting China-Nigeria educational exchanges, advancing school-enterprise collaborative development, and safeguarding the safety of Chinese-funded enterprises in Nigeria.

During the visit, Ms. Zhang Yanyan, Deputy General Manager of Nigeria Yongxing Company, and Mr. Sun Yu, Deputy General Manager, accompanied the delegation to visit the company's factory area as well as Shidai and Rongtai Industrial Parks, providing a detailed introduction to the development status of Chinese-funded enterprises in Africa and the working and living environments of employees. The delegation expressed appreciation for the achievements of Nigeria Yongxing and other enterprises in promoting local employment and fulfilling social responsibilities.

On June 18, the delegation, accompanied by Mr. Sun Yu, Deputy General Manager of Nigeria Yongxing Company, and Mr. You Xijun, Head of the External Relations Department, went to the Chinese Consulate General in Lagos to pay a visit to Consul General Yan Yuqing. They reported and exchanged views on issues such as China-Nigeria university cooperation and talent cultivation of Chinese-funded enterprises. Consul General Yan affirmed the achievements of the visiting delegation and encouraged Nigeria Yongxing Company to continue playing a bridging role in promoting China-Nigeria people-to-people exchanges and practical cooperation.

This visit not only deepened the cooperative relations between Fujian Jiangxia University and Nigerian universities, governments, and enterprises but also demonstrated the important role of Nigeria Yongxing Company as an envoy of China-Nigeria friendship. In the future, the company will continue to work with all parties to promote in-depth and solid development of China-Nigeria educational cooperation and make greater contributions to the people-to-people exchanges and economic and trade development between the two countries.
